It’s finally summertime, and the last week of June. Ever since I can remember, the last week of June has always been my favorite week of the year. Ella Fitzgerald’s exquisite rendition plays in the background of my memories.
“Summertime, and the living is … easy …”

Summer yawns out before us with so MUCH promise …

Daytime light stretches well into the evening.

Our vegetables show the promise of what is to come.

Sunshine seeps into my soul.

COLOR is everywhere.

Just because! (I love DIY.)

Making sun tea.

The garden is planted and herbs are already providing fresh flavor.

(His favorite morning spot.)

Basil is the consummate summer herb.

Oppressive August heat isn’t yet upon us, and the days are warm and comforting. The top is off the Jeep and the music is good. We enjoy these beautiful days while we can. We know what’s just around the corner.
Go for a walk.
Enjoy.
Just BE.
Soak it in.
It’s SUMMERTIME!
Summertime, and the livin’ is easy
Fish are jumpin’ and the cotton is high
Oh, your daddy’s rich and your ma is good-lookin’
So hush, little baby, don’t you cry
One of these mornings you’re gonna rise up singing
And you’ll spread your wings and you’ll take to the sky
But till that morning, there ain’t nothin’ can harm you
With daddy and mammy standin’ by
