Buffalo Chicken Burgers
Servings: 4 servings
We're in Buffalo, NY, the holy mecca for authentic Buffalo chicken wings. We K2.0'd the burger version, and it's amazing! The low-sodium hot sauce we recommend is called "Cooper's Small Batch Hot Sauce" and can be ordered online. Cooper's has many low-sodium varieties. Check the nutrition stats for the one you like best.
- 1 lb lean ground chicken
- ½ cup diced onion
- ½ cup diced celery
- 2 Tbsp crumbled blue cheese
- 1 tsp cumin
- 1 tsp chili powder
- 1 tsp granulated garlic
- 1 tsp freshly ground pepper
- 1 Tbsp low sodium hot sauce
Preheat a cast iron or nonstick skillet on medium.
Mix all burger ingredients together in a large bowl. Form into patties.
Cook the burgers over medium-high heat, 5 minutes a side, until done. A meat thermometer should read at least 165º.
Serve with or without a roll, and with carrots, celery, and non-fat Greek or Icelandic yogurt for dipping. Don't forget the hot sauce! Just use a low sodium variety.
